Gyngell bats on

Astonishing that Channel Nine is in such a precarious position. It’s still so profitable, if you don’t count the debt problem.

About this site

I started this site in 2001 as a cartoon blog of political events. I load all my cartoons, good, bad or indifferent, sometimes including unpublished roughs. The wordy descriptions round the cartoon make them more searchable on the web.

Output for The Australian: I draw a letters page cartoon each day for a fortnight, and them swap with my colleague Jon Kudelka and do page one pockets for a fortnight. I also draw "Nicholson's Week in Business" in the Weekend Australian, and a Media cartoon for Mondays.

On-line: My cartoons appear online first on Theaustralian.com.au .There are also galleries of my work and of my colleagues Jon Kudelka, Bill Leak and Eric Lobbecke at The Australian.

My cartoons are copyright. You may not use them in any commercial publication or website without my permission. However, one-off use on your private non-profit website or publication may be ok. To find out more go to Use a cartoon.

How to search for a cartoon

1. Use the search box at the top right
2. Go to Find a cartoon on the top menu. On that page you can search for cartoons by date, and you can see a complete list of keywords
3. Click on keywords under the cartoon for other cartoons on the same subject.
